It depends on my mood. If I'm looking for a smoky dram, the bottle of Talisker 10 year old I just finished is outstanding! If I want something lighter to enjoy, the bottle of Edradour 10 year old I'm enjoying now, is a very nice and well balanced dram.
I understand we get a higher strength version of Edradour 10 yr. old here in the US (43% abv) than you can get in the UK (only 40% abv). Maybe that's why I like it more than many reviews I've seen here.

The Talisker and The Ardbeg are both excellent but the Ardbeg seems to possess some kind of magical property I just can't put my finger on.

I'd say either the Talisker 10 or Springbank 10. The Springbank is, to my palate at least, the tipple that Highland Park 12 should have been, which I've always found a little underwhelming given its reputation.

Springbank 10, with Ardbeg, BenRiach Curiositas, Talisker and Glenmorangie Original coming in a close second. To me, it is notable that there is little difference, due to age, between my favorite 10-years and 12-years. That is, if I were to line up my favorite lower-priced malts, from many distilleries, the collection would consist of both 10s and 12s together as peers.

Whoa, forgot to include Ledaig 10 as a favorite ... for that special adventurous mood. If you dare, here's one review so far: connosr.com/reviews/ledaig/…

Have to agree on the Talisker 10, it's an amazingly smooth yet sharp whisky. Will have to try the Ardbeg 10 as I've recently tasted some very nice Ardbeg drams (but not the 10)

Talisker 10: for its iconic white peppery quality and long smoky finish. Was actually my 1st ever single malt, and I haven't looked back since.
