Try the "Last Hurrah" in the Omni-Parker House. It has an excellent selection of whiskies. The food is a little overpriced and the service slow, but that's not the reason to go there. :-) An alternative to that is the Castle & Elephant.
As an alternative to Federal W&S, look into Boston Wine Exchange. It's just around the corner from Federal.

Go to Eastern Standard in Kenmore Square, if you like whiskey cocktails. www.easternstandardboston.com
Another great place is Whiskey Priest, 100+ different whiskys on tap: www.thewhiskeypriestpub.com
If you will have a car and don't mind driving way out of the city, try going to Julio's Liquors in Wesborough: www.juliosliquors.com

Look for the Whisky Magazine issue 98 (in shop now). There is an article on bars in Boston and Federal W&S.

Hi, I will go to the Whisky Extravaganza in Boston next week with some friends and I was wondering if anyone of you guys know a great bar for whisky in Boston downtown area ? Or if you have any hint on where to buy whisky in Boston area. I know that Federal Wine and Spirits seems to be THE place, but if there are other nice place with a good selection and great prices, please share it.
