Ardbeg has a new bottle of whisky in its collection. Its name is Ardbeg wee beastie 5 yo. I should be very happy, but I am a little dissapointed. It is an animal indeed. It is a very nice animal. It is not an alligator. It is not a beast at all. It is a pet on your lap. It purrs . It doesn't roar. It is not like Talisker Skye compared with Talisker 10 yo. It is definitely better whisky.

Nose:

Tangerine, pear, mint, pepper and peat.

Mouth :

Peat, lemon, apple, vanilla, smoke, lots of black liquorice, pepper, ginger, milk choclate, mint.

Finish: Medium, ashy, spicy.

I have to say my impression of this upon opening was very positive indeed. I don't drink whisky as often as I would like to want to, and given I have so many open days or weeks could go by between Ardbeg pours. So with a clean palate this stuff is fantastic. I did put it H2H with Corryvreckin once and it came up a little weak (and mixing the 2 was a success), but in general it gets 2 thumbs up from me. +1 thumbsup

@Nozinan I once mixed the Ardbeg Wee Beastie and the Ardbeg Ten. That was a great combination. It may be a nice idea to mix those two Ardbegs often. An Ardbeg must have a punch !

@NamBeist At some point before I consume my last dram of it, my Uigeadail will have the same fate...
