@CanadianNinja

Laphroaig Quarter Cask kills the Coronavirus. Or any other Laphroaig.... Or any other Islay...

That’s a FACT.

I recommend a generous dose to ensure eradication of the virus.

@CanadianNinja I hear 10 year old cask strength will also work in a pinch. smile

@BlueNote @CanadianNinja Sorry to burst your bubble.

ABV has to be 60% to kill effectively. Neither batch 005 or 007 (incorrectly licenced to kill) gets there. The Cairdeas triple wood gets extremely close.

No for me, I have 8 bottles of A'Bunadh tat 60% or higher, and if they run out I can go with AP CS (except it's stuck in Calgary), Amrut (CS,peated CS, Portonova and Bourbon single cask - LCBO exclusive). If that runs out there's Booker's, Stagg Jr, Octomore 4.1, Caol Ila unpeated 15 YO CS (one of the batches), ECBP (likeliest to eradicate anything). If it's life or death, Macallan CS, or Wiser's 23 YO CS.

I do have a cask #1 3 YO Stalk and Barrel, and it may be best purposed to disinfecting.,..

I’ve got one bottle of A’Bunadh and one Stagg Jr. I’ll have to use it sparingly. My Cairdeas TW and my OGD 114 are close, but not quite 60%. and I think my Laphroaig 10 CS is around 58% or so...I have a Glenfarclas 105, but it’s stuck in Toronto in the hands of a medical professional.

Edit: I’ve also got samples of the EC Barrel Proof Hazmat edition and of Lemon Hart 151 so those are for serious cases only...

I have lots of good CS rye stocked up, and some GOOD Bowmores, and my wife just made the final preparations in case you need to move in with us for a COVID19 quarantine...

OGD 114 went up from 25$ to 34$ at a local place. Coronavirus flippers (like the folks flipping masks)? I'm kidding, but the thought crossed my mind.

If the cork breaks on the old bottle you bought at auction, you can keep your mask on while you drink to strain out the cork!

@talexander, excellent use for a mask, but that can't compete with using fish net stockings to strain the cork pieces...while she's still wearing the stockings.

The apocalypse is upon us, it seems.

We're all likely in locations where social distancing and self-isolation are become staple words in our vocabularies But it does not have to be social isolation completely.

Does anyone have an interest in video dram session? We could find a time that works for the most people, pour a dram of our chosen anti-microbial product (I mean whisky here, folks), and chat about how the world is ending where we are.

My recommended platform would be zoom. I could post the link to this thread. We could come up with a time that works best. We could do more than one to accommodate everyone.

Let me know here.

@Nozinan I would totally be down for that. We’re working from home for at least 40 days. Anytime after 7pm CST will work for me.

Picked up some muscle to get through this tough spot we’re in. Wiser’s 23YO, 64.3% abv. Full Throttle Canadian Whisky.

Here in Pennsylvania the liquor store outlets are controlled by the state government. I just saw the notice that the Fine Wine and Good Spirits stores have all closed until further notice. The data base is down and you can’t search for any bottle of spirits. I hope all Pennsylvanians are well stocked up.

I would totally be into this! Unfortunately due to the time difference it will likely be in the morning over here, depending on when you guys decide to do this....

I’m up for it though. If it’s a day I have absolutely nothing going on.

.... Never drunk whisky in the morning before... Haha!

It's been confirmed that UK schools are to close from next week. Great to have more golf ... er I mean family time ... but not so great having no cash coming in for who knows how long!

Still, the bunker is brimming and I've a back log of samples and reviews that need doing.

That said, it might be time to put Ralfy's words, visavis whisky being currency, to the test laughing

Looks like there is enough interest.

How does Saturday night at 7 pm Eastern time. That way anyone up late in England (and Belgium?) might be able to attend and it will be 8 am in Tokyo (Sun AM). Not sure NZ time...noon?

Let me know either DM or here if you're in. If we have a critical mass I will post the zoom link here.

Hi,

Bad news. I’m currently fighting a covid19 infection myself. I have never been so ill with respiratory distress. I was perfectly healthy early 40’s, only vice was whisky and now I can barely walk. It’s so painful as well. I’m starting to get worried this could be an end game situation.

Keep safe everyone and take all the hygiene precautions seriously.

@casualtorture

@Misty Oh no, are you at the medical facility or at home? Hopefully there are still enough ICU beds in most places if it get's bad enough. Get better and drink lot's of water! Not whisky!
