@Misty - doesn't sound too good but hang in there.
If it's of any comfort I had flu type symptoms a few weeks back that knocked me for six; with a horrendous headache and a wheezing cough like never before. It took a week for the worst to pass then another week or so to feel something like 80-85%. At times, i was coughing so much I thought I'd pass out!
I never thought I had CV but looking at a symptom checker when I felt better it was pretty much bang on. My chest is still a little tight but bar the odd little coughing spell I'm fine.
Hopefully the worst will pass. I found lots of honey, ginger & lemon tea and turmeric milk really helped, as did keeping as still as possible. Get well soon!

So here are the details:
Let's start at 7 pm. Have your dram ready, and, depending on how many we are, a reason why you chose that dram.
An alternative is we could pick a distillery that we all have some example of and compare what we poured.
I think the meeting lasts only a half hour, but if it's going well, and we want to continue, I can quickly post another invite and we can regroup.
Thoughts?

@Nozinan, perhaps a cask strength or 60% abv selection to help combat CoVID19.

@paddockjudge I thought of that but with one of our family infected I didn't want to suggest that, because it doesn't really work, it just sounds good.

@Nozinan sounds good, looking forward to putting faces to usernames.

@talexander sorry... One of our Connosr family. I'm thankful no one in our family (anywhere in the world) has yet been infected.

@Nozinan, we can't take any chances! Distilleries are making hand sanitizer, the least we could do is sanitize our palates.

@Misty, thank you for sharing with us news of your unfortunate situation. I can't imagine what you are going through. Stay strong, please continue to contact us and let us know how you are doing.

Just a note: The Zoom platform may require you to download something onto your computer. There is also an app you can put on your smart phone. I recommend trying it first to see if it works.
See you all in 18h!

@Nozinan - Think I'm all set. Hopefully the tech works and our little ones are feeling sleepy! 7pm eastern is 11pm UK time if my calcs are correct?
Be great to put some faces to names and I'd be happy with any drinking choices. Something cask strength definitely has appeal though!

@RianC, you may regret that comment after seeing a few of our faces.

@RianC yes fine mate. My post was perhaps a little melodramatic I'm not sure we were that close to flooding. But at its worst we did get a call from the environment agency telling us to move valuables upstairs, get our house insurance policy and pack a bag. Which was pretty scary at the time!

I would like to join the video dram session tonight.
Got Zoom working for my wife on her laptop - she and other local community theatre members are doing a play reading at 8pm tonight. Figured I would test Zoom on her laptop and my iPad before zero hour for both of us.
Kathy is not technically inclined... took a little bit for her o download the app to her PC and then connect to the meeting... then she had to figure out how to turn on the video stream... and then the sound. Since we are just across the room, when the sound did kick in, got some echo reverberation on my iPad. Hilarious to hear her frustration “F@#k”, then “F@#k... f@#k...f@#k...” echoing on my iPad :-)
Looking forward to this evening’s dram session!

a word from Angus.Whisyfun
Pairing with isolation Angus
"Despite all the workmanlike humour flying about the place, I think we can all agree, this is not exactly the greatest of times. For some of us with vulnerable friends and loved ones it is unpleasantly stressful and frightening. And of course, for most of us, there are all manner of unsettling economic realities to contend with. However, Whiskyfun remains open, life goes on and there’s every good reason to let whisky work its original and intended magic: relax, unwind, laugh, share where possible, get a little tipsy - carve out a few wee pockets of fun and joy here and there. Anyway, enough prevarication, let’s try a bundle of newish whiskies in pairs."

For those of us about to join the Zoom dramming session, I look forward to meeting you and seeing if you look anything at all like I imagined you would...
