32 year old whisky from a single Oloroso Sherry cask

  • Nose: old wood sweet and sour, toffee mocha, liquorice, a real charred character which is suprising, leather and mustard again, cured meat as well, but remarkably for a 32 year old whisky its delicate, there are beautiful herbal and floral notes in this whisky

  • Pallet: muscular and steady, dried fruits, blackberry jam, spicy but not hot, also fresh strawberries here as well. So so smooth

  • Finish: stewed tea, cooked fruits, jams, milk chocolate, orange peel, some smoke and pepper. Lasts and lasts and lasts. beautiful

  • Mark: 9.5

Incredible to have a whisky of this age with this complexity and delicacy. It pained me to watch this dram go down.

Thanks for rubbing my face in a delicious whisky that I will probably never get to taste ; )

Seriously though, great review. I love hearing about the exotic stuff even though I will probably never get to taste a dram or a half dram or a quarter dram or an eighth of a dram . . . since I can't order any alcohol from Scotland due to shipping restrictions in Oregon. Thanks OLCC. Eat my dirty boxer shorts.
