I Need a Glenfiddich Snow Phoenix!

Saw it in a lovely gift package in a Belgian shop. Affordable!! Do you know what the taste is like??

Supposed to be great. Nice and lively from what I understand. There are a few reviews already online. If you can help me get that bottle you saw, PLEASE let me know. Do you remember the cost in US$?

I've seen various release notes saysing $80 or $90.

Just came into our Edison Depot last week so expect to be seeing it very soon.

I have two bottles and he is very nice indeed. Maybe I will sell him in the future. If tomorrow somebody gifs enough I will sell him.

I am getting my sample bottles this week so will post some tasting notes up here over the weekend.

Here's a link to another post I made yesterday about Snow Phoenix. The only bit I'll repeat here is that we really want people to buy this and drink it, not just add it to their collection. This is a truly stunning expression and you don't want to have missed out on the complex flavours.

That's exactly what I want to do Jamie! I can't wait to crack one open and enjoy. It sounds fantastic. I am yet to find someone who can help with a bottle here in the States though. I'll keep dreaming!

@jamiemilne if you're travelling through LHR any time soon, it's "malt of the month" in T5. I bought two - one to drink, one to keep. Also available in Milroy's of Soho.

Selfridges Birmingham had one for sale for £63 when I was in there on Tuesday evening.

@JDiddy I spoke with the spirits guy a Binnys.com and they got it in stock yesterday. If you're in the midwest you should be able to find a store. If not they do ship from their site.

For those State side the wait is nearly over for Snow Phoenix. East coast you may have it already for us on the west it is avaliable from January 20th, There will be a limited quantity of 12,000 bottles to the USA @ $89.99.

Now for the important part, what does it taste like?? I received a few sample bottles from NY just before Christmas and can honestly say that considering the packaging, price and most importantly the taste those 12,000 bottles will not last long!!

Nose : fresh, pear character that is evident in the 12yr, creamy with a floral hint and a good waft of vanilla

Mouth: easy to drink neat especially for cask strength, chocolate, rich, slight hint of smoke. Nice freshness coming from a bit of apple, some honey sweetness there too.

Overall impression - seek it out and quick before it all melts away!!!

@GlenfiddichMB I did manage to get 2 bottles from Binnys. One to drink now and one for back up. Glad to see it made it to the States! I am however, confused. Wasn't this a limited bottling of 2000? How are 12,000 coming to the States? Slainte!
