Maltmadness have some interesting info on this distillery and it does seem to be one of the most obscure ones. As of 2013 it has been demolished with plans in place to build a new distillery.
At 57.8% I've added water immediately. The nose is a bit odd - hard to decipher but I get burnt sugar with a bit of earthiness. Toffee-liquorice becomes apparent after a bit of time.
The earthiness on the nose translates to a light smokiness on the palate. It's also quite spicy-sweet. Again this is hard to pick apart but can also detect a bit of lemon too.
Probably one of the most challenging whiskies I've tried - it kind of has a bit of everything without any flavours dominating, (and needs someone better trained than me to provide tasting notes). As obscure as the distillery from which it originates. But nice enough.

Maybe trying it neat at its original 57.8% might clear up some challenges. Nice review though.
