More stores in Alberta (specifically Calgary), many of them Liquor Depots, seem to have Wiser's 35 and Little Trinity.

Lot 40 requires you to call the distributor for some reason but has been sited at a Coop World of Whisky store.

@Nozinan Spoke with an acquaintance in an Oakville LCBO. They receive their Whisky allotment from the London warehouse and he tells me there are 700 bottles of Lot 40 CS at that warehouse. The line from the west ends in Oakville for distribution. The east allotment should be greater.

I only just noticed the typo I made in the title. And I don't know how to fix it #PermanentShame

@Nozinan They probably used those fridge magnet words, but just the Canadian ones, and chose at random. "snow" "chesterfield" "all-dressed potato chips" "northern" "trans-canada" "border" "poutine" "eh" "sorry" etc. Actually, a great name would have been The Sorry It's Canadian Collection.

@talexander That's probably a more interesting explanation than Wiser's will give us...

Now Arthur Ontario is getting into the game with Wiser's 35. The Lot 40 in Niagara Falls is gone and replaced with Pike Creek 21 and Little Trinity. It's like whack a mole...

@Nozinan I think Dr. Don Liver-No-More hacked into the LCBO and is just messing with all of our heads.

The Whack-A-Mole Collection brought to you by LCBO Pop-up Store....this one borders on ridiculous. Well, if it is a buzz the top-knots wanted to create, they can consider themselves successful. I consider it another epic failure by the state-run agency. These guys could f**k-up a crowbar!

Sounds like the LCBO campaign to hype up interest in the premium releases is going very well, by their standards. Sounds like a lot of pimping around, to me. Haphazard, random availability designed to generate the maximum anxiety and motivation to get customers to commit to purchase. Do you guys feel manipulated by all this? I would.

@Victor We're probably just wasting our time worrying about what are likely just inventory errors in the LCBO system (which happens all the time).

@Victor I got worked up about it for a bit, but then my ADHD kicked in. What will happen if I NEVER get to try Lot 40 CS? Nothing, that's what. There are so many whiskies I want to try (and a lot I want to own), the chances of trying/owning them all are slim to none. As much as I wish I was Wolverine/Logan, I'm not. My liver has a finite ability to keep me from dying of alcohol poisoning. If I get a bottle, great, if not, so be it.

@OdysseusUnbound It's easy to get caught up in the hype and excitement of getting something exclusive. I often remind myself of this to reign myself in.

If large numbers of hopeful purchasers are dissatisfied at the end of this release process, I suspect that you may find yourselves going to a lottery system for distribution, sooner, rather than later, with respect to future premium releases. That would be too bad, because then it will be convenient for the flippers to join in. The huge interest demonstrated that a potential market does exist for a further mark-up in asking prices. Price rations scarce resources.
On the positive side, I do think that the huge interest may convince the corporate decision makers that an increase in production of Lot 40 CS is a desirable business proposition.

@Victor An increase in the production of quality Cask Strength whiskies is ALWAYS a good thing.

For me part of the thrill is laying my hands on a hard to get bottle. But I agree that it should not be such a big deal. After all, there are people who don't even know what they are missing...and don't care.
I also agree that I hope the interest sparks an increase in higher proof, high quality spirits in Canada.
