@Pudge72 - Update! The American chapter of SMWS just sent out one of their "Little Lots" e-mails a few minutes ago. They had 27 bottles of 127.26 available. I was on the phone immediately and am now waiting the arrival of this new bottle to my cabinet. Thanks again @Pudge72 for the heads up on this one!

@bwmccoy You're in for a treat! What a bottle that is.

I'm doing a sherry flight tonight with Glenlivet 21, Glenmorangie 18, and Aberlour 10.

Kilkerran single malt. this is very good. something like a peated AnCnoc. It is young but well rounded. Sweety, citrusy and peated.

@JoeVelo -- I find Kilkerran similar to Talisker. Depending on how prices go, it may even turn into a cheaper substitute.

@teebone673 Well the blend was good but let's just say I'm not going to be replacing Richard Patterson or Jim McEwan anytime soon. :)

Eyeballing the open bottles on the bar, I quickly decided on a Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 year. T'was a good choice.

A tipple of Balvenie Tun 1401 batch 5 while tackling an accounting essay. I've been spending more time evaluating the whisky than I have the assignment.

@Chookster Those pesky assignments do get in the way of a good dram don't they. Good luck stay focused. :)

A rather good BNJ. that was part of a Birthday hamper - This is a splendid 'drop' that has more than a splash of Glenmorangie, in fact, one could easily call this 'Glenmorangie Light' (or lite) and not be far off the mark!

Great Whisky, impeccable balance, flavor and finish: How good could this have been at 46% abv.? Never mind it's pretty good anyway. I've got a G/M cask at proof which is unopened; what a good opportunity to open it and adjust the BNJ. up a couple of notches and see what happens...maybe!

Cheers!

Haven't had a dram in five days - yikes! I'll catch up tonight with a Laphroaig party: 10 yo, 10yo Cask Strength, Quarter Cask, Triple Wood, and 18 yo. I won't be able to get rid of the peat smoke in my mouth for three days, and that'll be just fine with me.

@WhiskyBee wow that's a lot of Laphroaig. Maybe you can use an IV tube, lol that will leave your taste buds out of the loop though. :)

@PMessinger - I'd never waste a Laphroaig on an IV. Only cheap beer. ;)

@systemdown agree with the Glenlivet 18 needing a little more oomph. Amazing nose, very delicate whisky. You really need to be patient with this one.

@WhiskyBee - Like you haven't had a dram in 5 days, so last night I had a Signatory bottling of a 12 year (distilled Feb. 3rd,1999) Blair Athol (cask # 776), followed by a 20 year Costco (Kirkland Signature) Speyside (unknown distillery) - Sherry finish, then finished the night with Bruichladdich PC8.

Last night cracked open my first Lagavulin bottling. the DE 2012. Damn smooth, dangerously so. I see the controversy now with the contrasting point of views regarding the sherry slightly overpowering the palate , but is a very enjoyable dram nonetheless. Tasty!
