Still on my quest to locate the perfect drams to be imported into Australia for sale to the bars and bottleshops.

It's my homework, and it's definitely the best job in the world. I mean I'm trying whisky, for free, and it's my decision on what becomes imported or not.

Even cooler is that this allows me to play around with distilleries that are either mainly produced for blends and distilleries that just don't do too many expressions.

I'd fallen in love with the Boutiquey Whisky Company, from Master of Malt, the first time I saw their bottles.

That love affair was cemented the moment I tried their whiskies, lovely whiskies, that broke quite a few of the normal rules.

No age statements, colorful comic book labels highlighting details from each of that whiskies history (for the most part!)

Tonight's homework was The Boutiquey Whisky Company Tobermory Batch 2.

The whisky is very pale, a pale golden color if not lighter then that.

The first thing to hit the nose is poached pears, cinnamon, black peppercorns, dried crackers, sugared doughnuts, mint.

A soft mild nose, sweet at times, then spicey.

Time for a drink though!

Really spicey to start with, all spice, cinnamon, nutmeg, brown sugar, then it goes sweet with cinnamon and sugar doughnuts and vanilla.

A mild finish with mocha, cinnamon, and nutmeg end the whisky.

A very easy drinking whisky, goes a little too sweet for my palate at times, but very enjoyable all the same.

A bottle of this bad boy would run roughly $95 or so before shipping, taxes, etc got done with it. Once all is said and done I'd expect to pay $150 or so for a bottle which isn't too bad, considering the whisky. This lovely little Tobermory came very close to making the cut into my shipment, but alas, there are bigger, better and cooler things ahead, thank you Boutiquey!
