@JohnMcWindows

How do I respond to PeatAndMeat's:

'What is your favourite 'world whisky'? (Outside American, Irish, Japanese, Canadian... and obviously not including Scotch)'

since my answer would be 'Canadian' and 'Japanese' because of my first good experiences with those countries of origin.

Yamazaki for example is not only a fabulous whisky it has a whole story that comes with it as you open the bottle. I always find it interesting to explore the stories behind the bottles. Mainly the juicy ones and those that reveal real characters fighting for a dream to come true.

Just got back home last night after 5 weeks away. Picked up a nice bottle of Isle of Jura Superstition. Can't wait to crack it.

I do like the packaging for Mackmyra. Although, in the photo it makes the whisky look redder than it probably is...

We're anticipating an impressive selection of new bottlings at the end of March, including a 30 y.o. Caol Ila and a 25 y.o. Glen Grant - definitely collector's items!

Andy McNeill's Premium Line is back on the market! We're expecting a choice selection of his newest discoveries, all sherry enhanced single cask single malts coming in between 51,7% ABV and 56,2% ABV. We're especially excited about the new Bunnahabhain which is not only sherried but peated as well!

Apologies to anyone who couldn't access the site over the last few hours.

We've experienced some down time on the server due to a hardware issue and have had technicians looking at the problem through the night. Normal service has now been resumed.

Thanks for your patience.

Just bought a Duncan Taylor NC2 Laphraoig - had one try of it and it was absolutely gorgeous. I went in intending to buy an Ardbeg ... never mind :-)

Excellent Talisker advice. After having a few days to reflect, I realize that Talisker is my gateway to Islay.

Enjoyed a wonderful Malts of Scotland tasting in Ghent (Belgium) last night, hosted by former Malt Maniac Luc Timmermans. Great line up: Macduff 1984, Glen Keith 1990, Glengoyne 1998, Bowmore 1995, Clynelish 1982 and Port Ellen 1983. I got me the Glen Keith as I felt this was the revelation of the night for me. I'll be updating my cabinet again soon :-)
