So, I've been sitting on a bottle of this for a little over a year now, waiting until I finished my bottle of Cragganmore 12 yo.
Nose: floral, vanilla, soft oak, melon, chocolate orange, marshmallow.
Light, slightly oily, creamy mouth feel. Vanilla, oak, cinnamon. Long, mellow finish with a little kick of spice at the end.
I chose not to add water this time around, I expect this malt would not particularly benefit from the addition, but there's a whole bottle to get through, perhaps I'll reconsider another time.
I realize that some folks might find this dram too light and boring, but I really enjoy its character. I expected something a little more complex but similar to the standard 12 yo expression (which I also enjoy when I'm in the mood for a light, creamy whisky) and that's exactly what I got!
