@OdysseusUnbound have a most excellent birthday! I have many wonderful memories from December 10s.

This is the exact time of year that @Dramlette and I most liked to visit Canada. Once we did so four Decembers in a row. Typically we'd drive up to Vieux Quebec, lodge inexpensively within the old city-- because it was the off-season, stroll about taking in the festive holiday decorations, delight that we were just about the only tourists anywhere to be seen, eat some great meals, usually inexpensively at lunchtime, and wait for the snow to fall. Our first go at this program was our honeymoon-- a few days before we were married.

@Victor I love Quebec City, especially the old town.

@OdysseusUnbound my two favourite tourist areas in North America are Northern New Mexico, especially Taos and Santa Fe, and the walled city of Vieux Quebec. They appeal to different moods, one more of nature, the other more of historical urban charm. Third would be New Orleans, which is my favourite place to eat-- and DRINK-- in the world.

@Maddie, my stalwart, bouncing, rambunctious, Bonne Vivante travel, food, whiski, and all other alcoholic beverages companion Big Sister, HAPPY 80TH BIRTHDAY! -- Yes, I cleared mentioning the number with her first. Thank you so very much for your great generosity to me over my 69.66 years, and for continuing to be my travel and food and beverage buddy. You've been a widow now for 13 years after 40 years of marriage, I a widower for 4 years after 33 years of marriage. You have the perfect open 'Beginner's Mind' for the world we are about to enter. Happy Birthday, Big Sis!!!
