During our quasi-private tour at Highland Park in September 2022, we tasted this 10-year-old during the introduction video. Since I was given a so-called 'driver's kit', I can taste it at home at my leisure. The nose is rather sweet on all kinds of yellow fruits with an emphasis on berries. Honey with the flesh and a soft touch of campfire smoke. Hint of ashes. Very accessible and fresh. On the palate, that sweet fruitiness continues, but the whole thing is wrapped up by a nice smokiness. It gives the malt weight and body. Some earthy notes are present. This is very pleasant. The finish is slightly herbal, soft smoky and sweet. Medium length. This is the entry level malt of Highland Park and in that view, it’s quite alright!
