Distribution of ratings for this:
- Brand: Longrow
- Type: Scotch
- Region: Campbeltown
- ABV: 46%
Nose: Weak, Tarry ropes, heather, tundra flowers, curdled milk, caramel.
Mouth: Very balanced attack that yields to camphor, bees wax, butterscotch, mild peat, no smoke, Silver Needle white tea, treacle.
Finish: More of the same. Smoke comes through at last on the death along with a kiss of peat and sweet.
I paid well over two hundred dollars for this bottle. I can say, with confidence, that it was worth about what it goes for on Master of Malt ($110) but much more.
For those in the UK, it's a great great deal. For those of us in the US, it rots like a canker. Yes, money does make a difference. This "broth" is weak and lackluster. At cask strength it would have been a doozy but at 46% it feels spent, weak, and watery.

Serge's glowing comments on Whiskyfun for this one are hyped up, if you ask me. Thanks Serge . . . not.
