Suntory Yamazaki Wine Cask malt

Given at the end of the distillery tour in Japan. A key contributor to the standard Yamazaki Single malt.

Nose Cherry, wood spice, strawberry, cinnamon

Palate Cherry, heavy wood spice, dark burnt toffee notes, muscovardo sugar

Finish Cinnamon, treacle and wood spice. Much shorter than the finish on the white oak.

Though this component doesnt reach the lofty heights of the cask strength white oak. It is still far superior to the whiskey it ends up being a part of.
