My glendronach 15R is good, but too sulfered for me afterall. the nose is often rubbery as well. macallan 18 has is nice but no depth. So, thinking either abunadh #44 or glenfarclas 17.

@BlueNote Were you able to find the Ardmore TC at duty free? Really like this one and it is relatively inexpensive here. Jonesz

@Jonesz. Not yet, I haven't been out of the country recently. Maybe in June. I'm hearing lots of good things about this one and it's high on my wish list. My next opening will be the BenRiach Curiositas and OP 17. My next buy will be a replacement for my just finished Uigeadail. Cheers.

Probably a Mortlach 1991 (Signatory Vintage bottling), my very first independant bottling. If it is still in stock at the liquor store and there's nothing else screaming for my attention then.

@RoganFox If you get the time and the inclination, I'd love to see a review of the 2006 Barley.

I would almost buy them just for the names haha Is the Arumaticus also peated? What other Scotch, if possible, would you compare them to?

Today's surprise acquisition, my first bottle of Old Pulteney 17, as a birthday gift. Thank you, Charles!

@Victor Enjoy! I recently tried the 17 for the first time and am loving it. I like the nose on the 12 a bit more but palate and finish on the 17 are great.

Glenfarclas 105. 'First time, in a long time, I've had a v/g a'bunadh and now a G/F 105 at the same time, so will be able to do a side by side. I've often thought about how it might go when I was tasting one or the other; you know how these things kick around in your head (mine anyway), so now I can!

I'll taste the G/F, then consign it to a large decanter - I've had the a'bunadh open for a few weeks and in my other decanter, so I'll let the G/F sit awhile and mellow, though they usually open very well. I'm looking forward to this!

Just bought the last bottle of Ardbeg Beist that I am aware of (around these parts).

@Onibubba, no way that is a bad move. As a speculation alone, Airigh Nam Beist will be worth twice what you paid for it in a couple of years. Of course neither you nor I would be selling it.

After a long research I bought The Balvenie Double Wood and just opened tonight. I tasted it in January, but tonight it tasted much better. I love it, and it's a great combination with my new fav HP12.

Heaven Sent! An Angel smiled upon me this week and delivered four top shelf bottles acquired on a well timed whisky mission - one bottle of Ardbeg Uigeadail (L11325) and three of Forty Creek Port Wood Reserve,

@Victor Damn skippy. It will be a sad day indeed when I get down to my last bottle of this one. I can only hope that the good folks at Ardbeg are planning the release of a 15 - 17 YO to take its place in the near future.

Just acquired over the last couple of days, as my first purchases of 2013, the top two bottles on my 'priority' list (those bottles that the LCBO has, correctly or not, marked as 'limited stock' items).

Compass Box Oak Cross is my 2nd CB bottle (and 4th one I will have owned or tried). These guys can seemingly do no wrong, just different degrees of awesome!

My first 're-peat' (no pun intended...ok, maybe a little when I noticed it) purchase is a 2nd bottle of Port Charlotte 'An Turas Mor'. This bottle is being replaced in the PC line by 'The Peat Project' and over the last little while, I reaffirmed why I loved this one so much. To my novice palate, this one presents peat, smoke, and brine in a very bold, yet well balanced, manner. Just awesome, with a smoked salmon profile coming through! Extra bonus, the 'ATM' is way more affordable than any of the PC 'Numbers' bottles (though I haven't tasted any of those to compare).

Anybody in Ontario thinking of picking it up, do so now (less than 100 bottles in the whole province...and I don't think they'll ship between stores since it is marked as 'limited')

My next planned purchase, inventory permitting in Ontario, is a bottle of Knob Creek Single Barrel. I've really enjoyed the KC 9 yo regular bottle as a sipper when I've had it at restaurants in the US.

Not more than a few months ago I found a nice bargain (or at least I like to think so)...A "father & daughter" owned liquor store that I used to frequent often (lived nearby there several years ago) had the Oban 18 yr for $80.

I purchased 2 bottles, but haven't tried it yet (have so many other bottles opened that I need to finish off 1st)...Maybe tonight, or even better tomorrow night I'll give it a try when my beloved Detroit Red Wings begin the 2nd round of the Stanley Cup playoffs against those dastardly Chicago Blackhawks.
