I'm considering a purchase of Amrut Intermediate Sherry on behalf of my club. Obviously I can find all the (glowing) reviews of it here, but wasn't there also a lot of recent discussion in one our perpetual topics about this one? I'd like to find that chat if anyone knows where it is.
Searching has failed me. Thanks.

I really wanna try the new Bruichladdich Port Charlotte 10yr so that will probably be it. Oh, and another bottle of Kilkerran 12yr. That shit doesn't last in my house!

Canadian club 41 yo got released. $299. Curious as to people’s thoughts given what they thought of the 40. $50 for an extra year of aging is a bit of a burn.

@nooch I ordered one - you'll all get my thoughts as soon as I try it.

Just took hold of an Amrut Fusion. I'll probably write a proper review on it, but I do not regret this purchase at all. First impressions are rather excellent! An interesting different kind of sweetness (barley, not cask dependant), and packing 50% ABV it's got a great 'drive' without being too hot (for my taste). A pleasant new introduction.
I wonder if the Amruts are generally readily available in India as I have some acquaintances who go there regularly on business..... hmm.....

1) Bunna 12: I think its underrate 2) Klichoman CS because the woman who stocks liquor at my shop recommended the CS over the wine cask bottles 3) Laphroaig QC (on sale) 4) Uigeadail
I would buy another bottle of A'bunadh 61, but the shop is out. I still have quite a bit left of the last bottle, but it really was exceptional (fruity and spicy). Then again , I haven't had a a bad bottle of the A'bunadh. I need to try/buy Kilkerran and Springbank. Haven't tried either.

Tonight my club will open a couple bottles under the spooky theme of "Trick of Peat!"
We haven't opened a peater since our Talisker night back in April, so we're gonna correct the hell out of that by opening the Platonic ideal of peated whisky, Laphroaig 10 Cask Strength.
As a fun little sparring partner, we've also a got a cask-strength peater from English Whisky Company. The connection? When EWC set up shop they brought in retired Laphroaig master distiller Iain Henderson to advise them.
And just for a dose of fun, I planned this month's meeting at the home of a member who lives near our fair city's coolest spookiest old cemetery, and we're going to adventure out for some moonlit drams.

@MadSingleMalt Sounds like fun, but I am not sure Plato would agree with you.
I have a lot of experience interpreting the philosophers (took a course in university) and was able to convince my prof that Plato was an early adopter of socialism (Locke and Hobbes too).
So I'd be happy to arrange a formal debate and prove that the rightful monarch of peaty goodness would be a Caol Ila CS.

Currently on a thing of trying to buy whiskies from distilleries I've never brought from before.
I've got a few I want to pick up over the next few months.

I've just opened the 375 ml bottle of Dry Fly Straight Triticale Whiskey (from Washington State), 44% ABV, given to me by @bwmccoy during his recent visit here. Thank you, @bwmccoy!
This is quite interesting and different. Triticale is a hybrid of wheat and rye grain which was first produced in Scotland and Germany in the late 19th century. This Dry Fly Triticale Whiskey has an interestingly floral nose, with a peppery delivery, a tart apricot-y late delivery, and a finish which hints more strongly of wheat, while still retaining the intense black pepper. The spicing is different from rye-based whiskeys, and the closest I have tasted to this one is the Corsair Quinoa Whiskey. Yes, @bwmccoy, I do like it.

@casualtorture I don't know if this helps, I saw quite a bit of this in Calgary between 100-115$ Can. If you have any connections this side of the border or ask the Connosr whisky pipeline you never know.
I would volunteer but my luggage is bursting as it is. If I can convince work to send me back there soon, I'll give you a heads up.
