Is there a way to subscribe to a thread without posting in it? I'm really enjoying the What is happening at Jim Beam? discussion, but don't really have anything to add, so it'd be nice to be able to be notified of updates without making a post.

If this feature doesn't exist, maybe make it so that if you Like a discussion you also subscribe to it? People can always mute it if they want to Like without being notified.

@Nelom I need to give some thought about the best way to do this – your like suggestion might be a good idea.

@jeanluc - Thanks again for all of your work with the site as well as the numerous fixes. I looked through, but haven't seen any one mention another issue, so forgive if it was previously mentioned and I missed it.

When adding bottles to my cabinet, I didn't see a way to upload a photo for that entry like I was able to do on the old site. If the ability is there, please let me know how to do so. If it is not there, is it something that is on your list for future enhancements?

@bwmccoy yes, you'll be able to upload custom images to your cabinet. That's another bit of functionality which didn't make the cut for launch but is in development.

FYI - our current focus is the 'Top Rated Whisky' section which we're hoping to release tomorrow. It's an enhancement of the old Top 100 page and you will be able to drill into top rated Scotch, Japanese, American etc

Hello all – we've released an update to the site this evening which adds a new top rated whisky section. This features a detailed top 10 as well as the full top 100 and you can drill into each of the main categories Scotch, Japanese, American etc.

The rating algorithm looks at a combination of review scores and cabinet ratings. A minimum of eight reviews is required to feature in the main top 100 list.

The new section is accessible via the main menu and you'll notice that we've had a little reshuffle up there.

I really like the new Connosr. It's quite modern (I'm a web developer) and has most of the latest user experience ideas. The photo in a post is quite nice.

I know what it takes to overhaul websites. It ain't easy. Congratulations and a raised glass to Jean-Luc and Pierre for a job well done! I appreciate your efforts!

Another question about one of the new features:

When you mute a thread and someone @ mentions you in that thread, do you still get notified of that mention?

Hopefully that's the case. We may not be interested in getting notified of every new post in a particular thread, but I'd hate to end up ignoring someone who @ mentions me just because I was muting the thread they posted in.

Just wanted to pass on a note of appreciation and congratulations to everyone involved in the site re-fresh/upgrade. As witnessed by all the comments and testimonials, it has been a hit w the community and please take a moment to savor what you have accomplished here.

I've been away for a little bit (combination of a number of factors but none that would be considered a long-term concern) and look forward to learning more about the site (specifically if it can become the defacto repository for my collection - would be nice to have everything in one place).

The new web site is brilliant. I hadn't logged in for ages thanks to that work thing but had a look during the xmas hols and was really impressed. In fact the new site kicked me into review mode so I tapped out a piece and read a bunch of other great reviews. Well done to all involved!

I didn't feel like this warranted a new thread but I discovered today that our link on whiskyfun is broken. Now I don't know if you jean-luc are in direct contact with Serge but I figured I'd let you know.

A quick update – the focus this week has been the Sign-Up function which will allow new members to join and contribute to the site. This should be ready to roll-out early next week (it's taken a slightly longer than expected due to the Join with Facebook element).

When Sign-Up is ready we'll be able to shout about the site relaunch and begin a broader campaign to promote Connosr.

Next we'll be taking a look at the Email Digest mentioned earlier in this thread and improvements to the direct messaging alerts so it's clearer when you have new unread messages. Plus lot's more small incremental improvements we're working.

You can now upload photos to your cabinet entries – just click the bottle image when viewing your cabinet and you'll be able to select an image from your computer or take a photo with your phone camera. Portrait images will work best.

Just wondering:

The context: When following the timeline and clicking on a discussion comment, the page opens on the comment selected. However, sometimes one is pursuing older discussions or there are some that are flagged with unread comments. When you click on those (as I did today with this thread) you get taken to the beginning.

Would its be possible to have a mechanism that when you click on a discussion it takes you to the most recent page?

Along the same lines as @nozinan thinking, I might suggest making the green circle for unread clickable, and it links you to the first unread comment within that discussion.

I too find it a little bit annoying to have to click to the last page and figure out where I stopped reading every time I go back into a discussion thread.

I'm not getting email notifications if someone comments on my reviews - do I have to do something to set that up?
